An Oklahoma City-based company specializing in air traffic control operations is the newest member of the Next Generation Aviation Research and Technology Park, officials announced Monday.
As a park member, Robinson Aviation, or RVA, will collaborate in the development of the park by participating in focus groups, advisory teams and a steering committee. The company also specializes in navigation and landing systems, communications engineering and transportation security studies.
“We have supported the Federal Aviation Administration for over 25 years, and we see the aviation park as a wonderful opportunity for industry to remain at the forefront of the transition to NextGen,” RVA President and Chief Operating Officer Charles Dove said. “Our company is proud to be a part of this effort.
The NextGen park will be constructed on the campus of the Federal Aviation Administration’s William J. Hughes Technical Center. There, researchers will work to convert air traffic control from a ground-based radio system to a safer and more accurate satellite-based system.
Once fully constructed, the park will include 400,000 square feet of lab and research space. About 2,000 high-level engineering jobs will be based at the park.
Other members of the park include The Richard Stockton College of New Jersey, Hi-Tec Systems, Sunhillo Corporation and Enterprise Engineering Services.
“We are actively recruiting members and encourage organizations interested in joining the park to contact me directly,” park Executive Director Ron Esposito said.
